This is an interesting paper which presents a secondary analysis of two comparative (though not exactly matched) longitudinal studies, comparing recovery times of head injuries of comparable severities in different cohorts of patients i.e. from hospital emergency departments and from sports facilities. This study accounts for discrepancies in the different cohorts, as well as accounting for other variables such as age, sex, and previous mental health conditions. Although the data is well handled and the statistical analysis carried out is appropriate, neither the data nor the paper as a whole is open access, and requires institutional access or payment to view.
