One interesting aspect of this paper is the PET approach that separates tonic from phasic dopamine release — something most ADHD studies can only speculate about. Still, the study feels limited: the sample size seems small, the focus on just the right caudate is narrow, and important factors like medication history or comorbidities aren’t fully addressed. Methodologically, the use of dynamic PET with 11C-raclopride is solid and allows a direct look at dopamine dynamics, but the restricted ROI and lack of detailed statistical reporting reduce the robustness of the conclusions. Overall, the study provides a useful proof of concept, though its findings should be interpreted cautiously given these limitations.
